Nicole Rabitzsch Obituary, SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Nicole Rabitzsch, 47, of Santa Monica, California, has lost his life following a shooting incident that law enforcement described as a murder-suicide at a residence on Pico Boulevard on Saturday morning, September 26.
Based on to the Santa Monica Police Department, officers responded to a home in the 3100 block of Pico Boulevard to conduct a welfare check and discovered Nicole Rabitzsch and her husband, Hendrik Rabitzsch, 48, deceased inside the residence. Police said the shooting took place at approximately 6:42 a.m.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner reported that Nicole Rabitzsch died from a gunshot wound, and her death was ruled a homicide. Hendrik Rabitzsch also lost her life from a gunshot wound, with his death ruled a suicide.
Authorities stated investigators believe Hendrik Rabitzsch fatally shot Nicole before taking his own life. A firearm was recovered at the scene, and police said no other individuals are believed to have been involved. The incident was described as isolated, with no ongoing threat to the public.
Nicole Rabitzsch was originally from Essen, Germany, and later lived in Santa Monica. She was known through her social media presence for sharing moments from her travels, including trips with her husband and experiences from destinations around the world.
Her photographs and posts reflected memories of adventure, travel, and time spent with loved ones. While officials continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths, no motive has been publicly released.
