Vivian Savella Obituary, HOUSTON, Texas — Vivian Savella, a 4-year-old girl from Houston, Texas, has passed away following a shooting at a home on Terra Reserve Place on Tuesday, September 29, hours after a custody hearing involving her parents.
Based on to the Houston Police Department, officers responded around 5:45 p.m. to a reported shooting in the 300 block of Terra Reserve Place. Police identified Vivian suffering from a gunshot wound, and investigators said they believe her mother fatally shot the child before turning the weapon on herself.
Police stated that Vivian’s mother was taken to a hospital in critical condition following the event. Houston police later announced that she had died from her injuries. Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
The situation happened on the same day a judge granted Vivian’s father, Aaron Savella, temporary exclusive rights to determine Vivian’s primary residence and make decisions regarding her medical care and education. The custody order also restricted her mother’s visits to supervised contact, based on to reports.
Vivian’s relatives stated the child was expected to return home with her father that evening after the court decision. Her father’s attorney stated that Aaron had followed the court’s orders and relied on the legal process regarding the custody arrangements.
Police said Vivian’s stepfather and a babysitter were inside the home at the time of the shooting. Investigators indicated that they heard the gunshots but did not witness what happened.
