Allison Feldman Obituary, SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Allison Feldman, a 31-year-old Scottsdale woman known for her work in medical sales and volunteer efforts supporting burn victims, was discovered murdered inside her home in February 2015.

Feldman had returned home after running errands on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015. When her family and boyfriend could not reach her later that evening and into the following day, her father, Harley Feldman, became concerned and contacted Scottsdale Police to request a welfare check.

Before officers arrived, Feldman’s boyfriend, Alex Stone, went to her Scottsdale residence on Feb. 18 and discovered her unresponsive on the floor. He called 911 for help, according to the account offered to ABC’s 20/20.

Investigators determined that Feldman had suffered blunt force injuries and strangulation. Evidence at the home indicated there had likely been a struggle before her death. Investigators also found DNA evidence at the scene that was believed to belong to an unidentified male who was not in police records.

Officials reported the person responsible appeared to have attempted to destroy evidence using chemicals, possibly bleach. Feldman’s boyfriend was initially considered a person of interest, but investigators later cleared him after his DNA did not match the evidence and authorities identified no signs indicating he had participated in the struggle.

Feldman was originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and attended the University of Arizona in Tucson. After graduating, she remained in Arizona and built a career in medical sales, specializing in wound and burn-care products. She also volunteered at Camp Courage, where she worked with children who had suffered burn injuries.

Family members, friends and colleagues remembered Feldman as compassionate, joyful, accepting and active in her community. Her father remained determined to find answers after his daughter’s passing, while investigators continued working to identify the unknown DNA contributor.

The inquiry eventually led law enforcement to employ familial DNA technology, a forensic approach that aided investigators identify a possible connection to a family. The case and the subsequent effort to establish the DNA connection and secure a conviction have since been examined by ABC’s 20/20 in an episode titled “Home Alone.” Allison Feldman’s life and the impact she had on those around her remain central to the story as her loved ones continues to remember her.
